BattleRoyale is the latest competition of the INSAT ACM STUDENT CHAPTER . Mainly , it is a programming competition but unlike any other, with the purpose of testing not only the ability of finding the best solution but also the speed of the process . Classical competitive programming competitions : – Always intends to test the participant’s ability to solve a set of problems with the optimal solution defined by given constraints . -The participant him/her self is responsible for choosing the order of problems to solve , usually the simplest ones first. This new concept was created to spare the participants the effort of searching the problem they should start with and to focus essentially on the problem itself, each team must solve the same problem given each round ,in the same order , in an optimal way within a given time frame that differs according to the difficulty of the problem . The ranking is calculated based on a scoring system where the speed is the main variable . Each round at the end of the time frame the ‘Zone’ starts closing , those teams who have a better ranking have a better chance of staying inside the ‘Zone’ and fight in the next round. The number of teams that gets eliminated each round is fixed at the beginning of the competition , for now it will be 10% of the total number of teams who played in the first round . This competition will be hosted online on a dedicated platform developed by our web team . As previously mentioned , the online solution provides many advantages . In addition , this will allow students to participate from all over the country at ease. We asked several problem solvers in our community about their opinion considering this new concept and we found positive responses and high expectations . Considering all of those factors we estimate : — New potential participants from different universities . – A threshold of 350 participants. What are you waiting for !
