NCSC or National Cyber Security Congress both refer the congress organized by Securinets Association for its first edition on the 11th of January. It lasted three days taking place in the Ruspina hotel, Monastir.
The idea behind this congress as stated by the Securinets club is to make use of the extensive knowledge and the experience of its former members to further enhance the practical skills of its current members. It held many types of activities such as workshops, attending conferences presented by professionals. It was a great chance for people to deepen their knowledge of Cyber Security and take a step further into the field.
The first day was all about checking in, soft skills workshop and teambuilding later at night. The soft skills workshops were the following; Planification and time management, Communication, Hypnose and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). The team building featured games played by the participants, karaoke and dancing.
After breakfast on the second day, it was time for the hard skills workshops. There were two sessions along the day; a morning one and an evening one.
The morning session featured the following workshops: Blockchain, Red team attacks, Forensics: Cyber Detective, Automatization of gameplay with reinforcement learning, IOT. While in the second session there was the following: Windows buffer overflow, PWN the box, Actions on google: Let’s build for Google Assistant, Cloud, Data Science.
During the final day, it was all about the members’ workshops. They displayed the work they did during the workshops that took place during the first semester at the university. The were many workshops; “Raspberry for VPN”, “Reverse Engineering”, “Credit cards & scammers”, “Ethical hacking”, “Attacking knowledge & Self Protection”. The members of the workshops managed to show the fruits of their work to the other participants.
The atmosphere of the Congress was friendly and created the chance to socialize with new people. Not to mention, learn new skills and have fun all at the same time. It was a new experience for the participants and also the organizers as well. Hopefully, we see NCSC bloom even more during its second edition next year!
