Like a summer breeze,

you came and I was inattentive.

A September blast,

surrounding me from everywhere.

An October wind,

Making cold hearts melt and yearn for one another.

In November, you were there.

Fresh, but blowing with care, invading my lungs, brains and elsewhere.

Changes hadn’t occured,

Of alcohol you reeked, yet still poured.

A warm body, a juicy mouth,

Hours of absence, days of hound.

I said December rain would wash you off.

But, January came and startled me off.

Visions, dreams and blurred eyes

Disguised as feelings, were your lies.

Texts and calls and pictures sent

In order to please, rules were bent.

Souvenirs of moments never lived.

Marks of lips as though I sinned.

Your fingertips trace my body,

My body tingles, aching and bloody.

Mars came and I was born again,

Drunk calls and texts unsent remain.

I was born again but you forgot,

And these little details, they mean a lot.

Days go by where I ache no more.

Others come where you flood and pour.

June came and you were born anew.

And of your life, nothing I knew.

This new year starts and I’m all alone.

Because what better company, than your very own!
